His list of walking wounded is also growing with Mario Goetze, Maximilian Philipp and Gonzalo Castro out for the foreseeable future.

Would FSG back such a big purchase in the January window without selling Coutinho?

Real Madrid have secured qualification and face Borussia Dortmund - a team that needs to win in order to secure a spot in the knockout phase of the Europa League - on Wednesday.

Real Madrid's slump in form has alarms ringing in the Spanish capital, but pretenders to the champions' European crown should beware: Real are often a different animal in the spring.

Bosz comes into the game under increasing pressure, with Dortmund's only win in their last 11 games coming in the DFB-Pokal against third-tier Magdeburg.

But Rodgers has also overseen the club's heaviest European defeat, 7-0 in Barcelona last season, and heaviest home loss, a 5-0 reverse to PSG that preceded the 7-1 hammering at the Parc des Princes. Since then, Dortmund have picked up only three points in seven Bundesliga games, drawn twice with Apoel Nicosia and lost to Tottenham in Champions League.

It was Luka Modric who broke the deadlock in Madrid's last Champions League game and the Croatia international is priced at 14/1 (15.00) to do so again, while captain Sergio Ramos is available at 17/4 (5.25) to score his second European goal of the season.

Marca, covering it from a Madrid perspective, believe it could be different this winter, and Aubameyang could be off to Liverpool. And judging by Zinedine Zidane's pre-match conference, Los Blancos are unlikely to make it easy for the visitors.

Just reaching the group stage - sharing in the prestige and the revenues - has almost become the be all and end all.

The German club have already been eliminated from the competition while Madrid will go through as group runners-up. I was very interested in the project, [but] it did not happen for many reasons. The rest ended as draws.

It would be little surprise were Real to shift their focus to Aubameyang, who continues to score plenty of goals and could feasibly be open to a move away from Dortmund given their current malaise.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring with a close-range finish and had a hand in two of Dortmund's other first-half goals before missing a glorious opportunity to increase the lead to five after half-time.
