The Premier League have rejectedLiverpool's appeal against the length of Sadio Mané's suspension after he was sent off in their heavy defeat at Manchester City on Saturday.

However, the international break seems to have broken their flow as they were brought back down to earth by the ruthless Manchester City who ran out 5-0 winners.

De Bruyne told British media on Monday, "The guys who have come in have a very physical quality, they are very strong, very pacy".

In a Twitter debate with ex-striker Jay Bothroyd, the 40-year-old predicted that Senegalese forward Mane would score 20 league goals and win the golden boot award.

Gundogan has made a full recovery and was named in the match-day squad against Liverpool over the weekend but did not feature.

Ex-Liverpool centre-back Jamie Carragher took a different view, saying "he had his eyes on the ball, but that doesn't mean he isn't endangering an opponent". But after the sending off after they didn't seem to have any relation to each other, they were all over the joint. "It depends on the player".

He posted on Instagram: "I hope and wish Ederson a quick recovery".

With Gareth McAuley (£4.9m) also nearing fitness, the Egyptian faces a battle to retain his start.

Mané will be out for Liverpool's next three domestic games following his red card.

"I don't think Sadio ever had the intention to touch his head or anything like this", said Mignolet.

"Lovren was on the bench and I always think if you are on the bench then you should be fit enough to play, so I can't understand why Klavan played".

While Mendy trolled the former Tottenham Hotspurs defender who was unfortunately snapped by a photographer in an awkward position during the match which sent the fans into a meltdown.

The fact that respected official Mark Clattenburg agrees that Mane's challenge on Ederson was not a straight red, makes one question what's not going on in the English Premier League.
