The double-tap to zoom function is a simple gesture that will zoom the camera to 50 per cent, and then zoom it out again, when users double-tap on the screen. These features are part of the 4.4 version of the Google Camera so if you aren't sure if the update has been applied, as it could have happened automatically if you have this setting enabled, then all you will need to do is check the version number to be sure.

Users will have to tap on the flash icon to enable the selfie flash. Although, the feature doesn't offer automatic white-balancing like the iPhone's camera, but it's still a good option to brighten up your selfie.

Google Camera v4.4 is now rolling out in the Google Play Store.

The new update also brings few more shortcut gestures, such as double tap to zoom, swipe to toggle between taking photos and shooting videos. As noted by Google, the latest version is designed to work on recent Nexus and Pixel devices running Android 7.1.1 and above, The Verge reported.
