To further complicate matters, Milan chief executive Marco Fassone claimed they are looking to snap up one of Morata, Torino hitman Andrea Belotti and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Borussia Dortmund - the same three players the Blues are looking at.

You may freely substitute Chelsea and AC Milan in any of these rumors and someone, somewhere probably has already ran a story like that.

Sky Sports reported that a move to Stamford Bridge was an alternative for Morata, with Chelsea also thought to be keen on signing him.

Should Belotti depart the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino this summer then staying in Italy or moving to the Premier League appear to be his most likely options at this point.

Milan have already signed Hakan Calhanoglu, Mateo Musacchio, Franck Kessie, Ricardo Rodriguez, Andre Silva, Fabio Borini and Andrea Conti this summer - with Leonardo Bonucci's move from Juventus all but complete - and they are now turning their attention to landing a marquee striker.

Adding fuel to the fire of Belotti's impending departure, however, is the fact he, one of the club's biggest stars, was missing from Torino's kit launch on Sunday.

On top of that, Morata's position in the Spanish national team would almost be unassailable. Then it's Belotti. Then it Aubameyang.

Conte's main target for the attack was Romelu Lukaku who joined Manchester United and having failed to sign the Belgian, the Italian is now determined to add Higuain to his squad. We will see who our choice falls to, although there are also other names who are yet to be splashed on the front pages by the media. To tear him from Juve wasn't simple.

One day is Morata. So it's back to Belotti. But that's an omen to ignore: the 23-year-old's style of play and variety of ways in which he scores goals are genuinely impressive - 'The Rooster' netted 11 goals with his favoured right foot, six with his left and 10 headers.
